Seafood
Gumbo is part of Louisiana cuisine and has been for many years. It has grew to
be a favorite by many, especially people from the South. This dish has a spicy
kick to eat while also having a smooth seafood taste. It has been used to draw
crowds in through competition by doing Gumbo cook offs. Now I will share with
you my way of making Seafood Gumbo.
Ingredients:
- one box of Zatarain's Gumbo Mix with Rice
- half of one onion, chopped
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- one bag of medium frozen shrimp, uncooked
- one package of smoked sausage
- one package of crab meat, cooked
Directions:
- Boil water as directed on the box
- Then add the gumbo mix and cook until rice is half way done
- Then add onion
- Let cook for 10 minutes or until rice is finished cooking and is tender
- Then add uncooked shrimp
- Let cook until shrimp is no longer translucent
- Then add smoked sausage
- Let cook for about 5 minutes
- Then add cooked crab meat
- Let cook for an additional 5 minutes
- Serve
